We are in need of Chamber Members to help with our planning for upcoming Chamber events and programs. Some of the planning committees are a commitment of as little as 1 (hour) meeting per month. It’s that E-A-S-Y!

2012 Chamber Planning Committees Descriptions
___2012 Chamber Membership Committee
CHAIR – Matt Weiss, Right Brain Design Group
This Committee evaluates and reviews member benefits and works on member retention ideas. Serves as greeters at various Chamber events. Works the Ambassador Table at the Luncheon Meetings. Also calls on all new Members to welcome them to the Chamber and meets them at Chamber events. Also works on Member retention ideas and implements these. The committee also plans a membership campaign.

___2012 Night at the Races Scholarship Fundraiser Committee
CO-CHAIR – Matt Weiss, Right Brain Design Group
CO-CHAIR – Steve Tirrell, Cartridge World
This Committee plans the Night at the Races annual Scholarship fundraiser. Also sells tickets and sponsorships for the event. Recruits event volunteers and works at event. Also serves as a liaison to the host location and race host.

___2012 Community Expo Committee
CO-CHAIR – Marilyn McClure, LifeServers of Northern Ohio
CO-CHAIR – Jake Ricker, PNC Bank
CO-CHAIR – Ryan Winkelmann, Winkelmann Design and Construction
This committee plans the annual Community EXPO event to showcase to the community what businesses and services are available. Help secure sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers. Work on special activities and advertising for the event as well as the floor plan. Sells and promotes table space for event. Works on all advertising and publicity for event. Serves as a liaison to the host location. Responsible for event security. This event is Saturday, March 24th at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium.

___2012 Scholarship Committee
CO-CHAIR – Aaron Barnhart, Valley Savings Bank
CO-CHAIR – Bob Gruber, Wellness and Wealth By Choice
This Committee plans and organizes the scholarships that are given out at the June 27th Monthly Luncheon Meeting. With other Committee members you will help choose and interview the recipients of these scholarships. Interested students will pick up scholarship applications at their school guidance counselor’s office. This committee also comes up with fundraising ideas for the Scholarship Foundation.

___2012 Golf Outing Committee

CO-CHAIR – Keith Viers, Ohio Savings Bank
This Committee plans and organizes our Annual Golf Outing, which offers a fun venue for Members and Guests to Golf and network. Help recruit hole sponsors, door prizes, golfers and volunteers. Work with Chamber Member caterer and help select a menu. Serve as a volunteer at the outing. This all day event is scheduled for Friday, August 17thh at Brookledge Golf Club in Cuyahoga Falls.

___2012 Rockin’ on The River Volunteers – Chamber Scholarship Night

CO-CHAIR – Tim Bullock, Union Nation Mortgage
This Committee recruits volunteers to serve beer at the Rockin’ on the River Chamber Scholarship fundraiser night.

___2012 Business Person/Citizen Awards and Memorial Parade Participation
CO-CHAIR– Carol Morgan, North Akron Savings Bank
CO-CHAIR – Steve Tirrell, Cartridge World
This Committee plans and organizes these awards in conjunction with the annual Memorial Day Parade. Coordinate winner’s bios, awards, wreathe for Cemetery presentation. Also help select the award winners. Help recruit sponsors for this event. The awards are given out at the May 23rd Monthly Luncheon Meeting. The Memorial Day parade is May 28th with the award winners riding in the Chamber donated convertible/car that the committee secures for the day.

___2012 Bicentennial Parade Participation
CO-CHAIR– Carol Morgan, North Akron Savings Bank
CO-CHAIR – Steve Tirrell, Cartridge World
This new committee organizes the Chamber’s participation in the City Bicentennial August 11th parade. This committee will be responsible for securing a “float” or car/truck transportation in the parade as well as decorations and recruiting volunteers to participate on the Chamber “float” or car/truck that day.

___2012 Speakers Bureau Committee for Monthly Luncheon Meetings
CHAIR – Matt Weiss, Right Brain Design Group
This Committee contacts, secures and follows up on all speakers for the upcoming year’s luncheon meetings. Meetings will start in July 2012.

___2012 Chamber Fundraising Committee
CHAIR – Russ Iona, American Mortgage Service Co.
This Committee works on planning a yearly Chamber fundraiser(s). The committee can be creative with ideas. Also recruits volunteers to work at fundraising event. Secures sponsors and sells tickets. Some ideas are business workshops, wine tastings, t-shirts, Chamber cook-out etc.

___2012 Health Expo Committee

___2012 Holiday Dinner and Silent Auction Committee

This Committee plans the last fundraising event of the year for Chamber Members and guests. This committee secures a location for the event. They also secure all donated silent auction and jingle bell auction items. This committee secures event sponsors and event volunteers. Serve as a liaison to the host location. The event is December 6th at TBA.

___2012 Chamber By-Law Review Committee
CHAIR – Tim Bullock, Union National Mortgage
This Committee reviews the Chamber By-Laws two times per year and reviews all submissions for proposed changes to the By-Laws from the Membership. Helps coordinate the ballots at the member luncheon where the voting for any proposed changes takes place. Distributes, collects and counts ballots.

___2012 Chamber Technology Committee
CHAIR – Tim Bullock, Union National Mortgage
This committee provides practical technological solutions for Chamber members and is a key component in developing a comprehensive Chamber website and database. The Technology Committee helps the Chamber and member businesses adopt the latest technology so that they can realize the productivity and quality-enhancing benefits that technology offers. The Committee also monitors technology-related issues on behalf of the Chamber, and provides information that will help members identify business opportunities in the marketplace.

___2012 Chamber Publications Committee
CHAIR – Angela Colecchi, Neoshred
This Committee reviews all Chamber of Commerce printed publications from the Cuyahoga Falls Street Map to the Cuyahoga Falls Community Book and Membership Directory. This committee works directly with the publisher/printer. This committee also oversees content of publications.
