TASK FORCE / COMMITTEE INFORMATION The Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce offers several different programs and events throughout the year with the help and coordination of volunteer Chamber members: Community EXPO: Help plan this EXPO event to showcase to the community what businesses and services are available. This event is scheduled for the spring every year. Help secure sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers. Work on entertainment for the event as well as the floor plan. Serve as a volunteer at the EXPO. Citizen/Business Person of the Year Awards/Memorial Day Parade: This Task Force plans and organizes these awards in conjunction with the annual Memorial Day Parade. Coordinate winners' bios, awards, wreathe for Cemetery presentation. Help select the award winners and recruit sponsors for this event. The awards are presented at the CFCC May Luncheon Meeting. The parade takes place on Memorial Day, with the award winners riding in the CFCC convertible/car. Community Awards Luncheon: This Task Force plans and organizes these awards, which recognize the significant contributions of local businesses to the economic growth and development of the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Help select the winners by visiting the nominees' places of business and recruiting sponsors. Also take photos of the winners' businesses and coordinate a slide show for the event. This Luncheon event is held in October. Chamber Publications: This Task Force coordinates the Cuyahoga Falls Street Map as well as the Annual Membership Directory. Review bids for each publication; help sell ads for each publication as needed. Also work with each on the layout as needed. This is a creative Committee! Golf Outing Fundraiser: This Task Force plans and organizes our Annual Golf Outing, which helps to benefit the Chamber Scholarship program. Help recruit hole sponsors, golfers, volunteers and solicit door prizes. Serve as a volunteer at the outing. This all day event is now scheduled in June. Holiday Reception & Silent Auction: This Task Force organizes the last event of the year. Help select a location, entertainment, and menu. Coordinate the official swearing-in ceremony with the Mayor for the incoming Board Members. Also secure items for the Silent Auction. Membership Benefits/Ambassadors: This Task Force evaluates member benefits and works on member retention ideas. Serve as a Greeter, work at Registration, 50/50 Scholarship Ticket Seller and Ambassador Table at the Monthly Luncheons. Nominating: This Task Force forms in August to help recruit candidates for a nomination slate of board members, which is presented at the November Annual Membership Luncheon meeting. Public Officials Luncheon: This Task Force plans and organizes this reception which is held in honor of our city, public and school officials. This helps establish rapport between the business community and local government and school officials. This Luncheon is held in March. Night at The Races Fundraiser: This creative Task Force plans and organizes this fundraiser that benefits the Cuyahoga Falls Area Foundation Scholarship Fund. Help to select a theme for the event, sell tickets and recruit volunteers. Scholarship: This Task Force plans and organizes the scholarships that are given out at the June Luncheon meeting. With other Task Force members you will help to select and interview the recipients of these scholarships as well as recruit monetary donations through the CFCC membership. |
